On Thursday, 28 February 2008, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met Gediminas Kirkilas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania.
In the course of the meeting, G. Kirkilas and A.Yatseniuk discussed a number of issues concerning political situation in Ukraine and the Lithuanian Republic, cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union, economic cooperation between the two countries.
Thus, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informed the attendants that the European Commission scrutinized a new extended treaty on cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, and dwelled upon a new form of cooperation between the European States.
Gediminas Kirkilas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, invited A.Yatseniuk to make an official visit to Lithuania.
